Phnom Penh, 23 August 2013, Hong Leong Bank (Cambodia) Plc. (“Hong Leong Bank Cambodia”, “the Bank”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Leong Bank Berhad Malaysia celebrated the opening of its first banking operations in Phnom Penh, allowing it to serve business and retail customers in Cambodia.

The opening ceremony was officiated with a ribbon cutting ceremony by Mr. Joe Farrugia, Chief Executive Officer of Hong Leong Bank Cambodia, Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan, Executive Chairman of Hong Leong Group and Mr. Raymond Choong, Chairman of Hong Leong Bank Cambodia Board of Directors, who were joined by several members of the Bank’s Board of Directors and senior officers. In attendance and presiding the opening ceremony was also H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia.

Hong Leong Bank Cambodia will cement Hong Leong Bank’s legacy of meeting the evolving needs of customers and offering them a broad range of banking and specialized financial services in Cambodia. The bank will be rolling out six highly relevant banking products - Savings Account, Current Account, Remittance and Basic Treasury facilities, along with business and mortgage loans.
